TDL Mobile: Show 001

I have been neglecting the blog for the past few weeks, but things have been so hectic that I have not had time to write up the posts I have in mind. I was able to find time to join a group of fellow geeks on a new podcast that is spawned from Ian Dixon’s Digital Lifestyle. TDL Mobile is a natural progression from The Digital Lifestyle, especially with new platforms emerging and evolving at such a rapid pace. The first episode is up. I join Ian Dixon, Jon Dickinson, and Sheldon Witney in discussing our thoughts on current mobile platforms, past devices, and what has drawn us to the mobile world. Show 001 is more of an introduction, giving a taste of what to expect. Future shows will include comment and e-mail segments, reviews, news, and other features. Head on over to take a listen and drop us a line to let us know what you think. Hopefully, you like what you hear.

Another little gadget is on its way to Pixel Concept HQ. This one is not nearly as expensive as the last item In Transit, but still worth the anticipation. The package should arrive in a few days so be sure to check back for unboxing pics later this week by clicking on the tracking image.
Good Idea, Bad Idea 001: Tracking By Address

Growing up, one of the more modern and popular cartoons was The Animaniacs. The show itself was a bit strange compared to the classic Looney Toons, but it was its originality that made it so appealing. One of my favorite segments of the cartoon was called “Good Idea, Bad Idea” in which a skeleton man was used to illustrate how a single idea can have a good twist and a bad twist. You can find a few clips on You Tube and are worth a chuckle, but I digress. Just like most people, I often come up with small little ideas that initially seems easy and grand. Of course, if it were really that easy, someone would have probably done it long ago. Regardless, I thought I would start a feature highlighting random ideas along with some of the good and some of the bad that comes along with it. Naturally, the feature will be called “Good Idea, Bad Idea”. So, without further ado, here is the Good Idea Bad Idea 001… (continue reading…)
In Transit 001

Like any other geek, I check the order status of any online purchase at least five times a day. I placed an order for something I have been wanting for quite some time now but has managed to slip my hands until now. Although the item had an expected shipping date of 3/24/09, I was just surprised with an e-mail stating that the configuration was complete and has shipped out. I’m especially surprised since just today the order status changed from “Processing” to “In Production” so I did not expect the item to even be ready until early next week. To make things even better, the item is shipping out of San Diego, CA which equates to a one day turn around for FedEx to my location; in other words…the item should be here tomorrow! Rather than spoil the surprise I’ll leave the item a mystery and start a series of “In Transit” posts that I will put up any time a new gadget is en route. The FedEx tracking image will link to the post I put up once the item arrives so just check back and click on the image above to find out what’s coming. Eventually I may even run some contests with giveaways to those who are able to guess the item correctly, but for now it will just be for fun (hint: it’s in one of the posts). I hope my F5 key can take all the abuse it will be getting tomorrow.
